Obscure International Film

Ryan’s Bollywood Fight Club

Sunday, January 22nd, 2006

People have been asking me about Bollywood films. A lot of them are just blatant ripoffs of Hollywood films, except with dancing. They’re not musicals in the sense that song is used to further the plot, but in the sense that the whole movie stops so that the entire cast can dance to a pop-song for no reason while a subtitle appears on-screen telling you how do download the song to your cellphone.

I thought Chocolate was the most extreme example I could find of this…. It’s basically a line for line ripoff of The Usual Suspects, except that they gave both the Keyser Soze character and the detective character hot female sidekicks, and fluffed it up to 3 hours by having the characters go out dancing and shopping between interrogation scenes. I also read about the new film Ekh Anjabee, which is a line for line remake of Man on Fire starring the host of the Indian Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.

But then…..

Oh god…..
Then I saw this trailer.

Since everyone seemed so excited about the upcoming Indian Fight Club, I figured, why make you wait? I made my own version of the film, just for you.

I want you to do me a favor.

All singing, all dancing!

Like a christmas tree

Let’s split up the week.
