Mexican House Hunt: Chihuahua
Wednesday, August 1st, 2007Greetings from Chihuahua!

This picture was supposed to be totally funny because it says ‘Turistas’, but our heads are totally blocking the sign.
We just got out of a 27 hour bus ride last night, so we still haven’t seen much of Chihuahua, but the one thing we do know is this bell tower, which is located directly above a little 3 story echo chamber that filters directly into our hotel window. Early morning fun!

As a follow up to our last story, it seems that my faith in humanity can be restored. I have still never been stolen from. I am, however, still a ridiculous klutz who leaves things in taxis. The driver actually called my parents in Michigan when he found it. We were already leaving Tijuana, but we had already laughed it off anyway.
There were only a few bucks in the wallet, we were directly across the street from free wifi, so I could easily cancel all the cards, and I had conveniently enough just recieved a large check at ComicCon that I had deposited in John’s account since my bank didn’t have any branches in California. So we had already decided that since there were no consequences, it was the best possible way to start the trip and get a good story out of it.
But the greatest moment was when we remembered the sketch that John had just done on the bus on the way TO Tijuana.

Oh, and since our Tijuana update consisted solely of pictures of a convenience store, here’s a single picture that will sum up the city for you.

Also, it’s a little weird that after all the trouble I went through trying to get a visa, no one even asked to look at our passport to get into the country. The only thing that happened was in the middle of the night, on the way to Chihuahua, some customs dudes made us get out of the bus, push a button, and get back on the bus. it was very mysterious and awesome.
